Good 2013

THey all!
I hope you've all had an awesome 2013. Mine was pretty ace completing a diploma in jewellery, learning new skills and enjoying myself in general.
I've only managed to make 2 items in the recent week as I've been with my boyfriend before he goes back to Bournemouth.
This is going be my fathers birthday card. I love the retro sentiment, seems so my father! Men's cards are always a challenge...
This is my vintage inspired birthday card. I loved the colours and the tag, they work together so well.

I've already decided what my resolution will be for next year... To make all the items from my magazines. What's yours?
See you in 2014.

Crafty happenings

Hey all!
Just a little post today to show you all what I managed to make yesterday. I didn't plan to have a crafty day, however it just happened. I made some beautiful items too.
These were my "using up" tags. I had plain tags and left over Christmas paper so these beauties were made. Hopefully I'll remember to use these next year!
These are the first pair of earrings I've made using my mallet, steel block and new book. These are gorgeous and I loved making bohemian jewellery! What do you think?
This is the gorgeous card kit I bought with my Christmas money. For a spare half an hour I thought I'd give this a go. It's a gorgeous card kit for an autumn birthday. To be put away maybe.

Thank you for reading today.

Spreading the Cheer

Happy Christmas everyone!
Hope you all had a lovely day yesterday, I know I did and received some lovely goodies from Santa. Today I'm going to take a short 5 mins to show you all the crafty goodies I received from the big man.
These are the lovely card goodies I bought today (I love the sales!!) with Christmas money. These include rub ons, brads, stamps and card kits. All to add to my stash of corse.
Fimo items! As some of you may remember I used fimo during my final project at London and asked my parents for items to continue at home. I received 3 packs of fimo, fimo tools, fimo glue for silver leaf and fimo varnish. I can't wait to get my hands on these!
Jewellery will always be a part of my creative journey and you all will be seeing more of it soon! The bohemian book was from my sister (a style I will be dabbing into more and more), the hammer and steel block from my boyfriend. New designs coming soon! Watch this space.
And finally some more card making items. These are the ever famous spectrum noir pens by crafters companion. Unfortunately this range is discontinuing but the newer range is just as good. Great for colouring in and shading stamped images. The embossing tool has been on my wanted list for ages! I have to admit, what have I done without it! I tested it earlier and yes it is noisy, but creates beautiful out comes. Below is what I created (excuse the picture lighting, it was getting rather dark!).

I hope you all got everything you wanted from Santa!

Evening all

Good evening everyone!
I hope your all having a lovely weekend, I've had a fantastic one. Yesterday unfortunately I was working but got to finish early :D My weekend of relaxation then started. I've watched movies, eaten chocolate, seen my boyfriend and made things! My clear out session is still in progress too.

Today my sister, boyfriend and I all pitched in to make a gingerbread house. My sister is in competition with her friends to make the best so here is our entry! I must admit I ate a lot of icing today. Do you like it?
(Yes that's my boyfriend hiding behind the house!)

I also decided that seen as this Christmas I don't have a new dress to wear on the big day, I needed to make myself a piece of jewellery. I made a batch of resin pendants when I tried resin a few months back and decided to use this flowery pendant for Christmas. Add a few charms and some suede cord and you have a cute little necklace.

I hope your weekend ends great!

What a tweet

Hey all,
I can't believe it's already Friday! I've done nothing but work and only just managed to create a few items. Also starting to clear the chest out of my room and finding so much old stuff that I really don't need anymore! Throw out session!

Here are my items for this week.
My second handmade baulbal, this one was for my grandparents. The snowflake charms were also from crafty creatives.

These little beauties were made from goodie bag pieces! I loved the bird die cut and knew it had to take centre stage. I've inked it up and placed it on a water coloured handmade paper. This is the finished card.

The Shabby Tea Room Week #197

Hey all!
It's that time of the week again! It's shabby tea room time. I look forward to this time every week, let's see what I had to play with this week.

The Shabby Tea Room:

This weeks photo was beautiful. Here it is:

We had to make a card or papercraft item using red, white, gingham and/or gingerbread. Well you know how much I like my gingerbread theme this year so this was a diddle for me!

I came up with this design:

I liked this design so much I've already used the card for my work friends! Fingers crossed for me everyone.

Crafty day

Why hello!
Today was my tidy desk/ craft day and I actually managed to get one and a half of my kits done. I'm rather proud of myself. First I decided to make a kit from my Christmas crafty creatives box (www.craftycreatives.co.uk). It was a lovely lip blam kit and I thought this would be something sticky and icky to make, but it wasn't! The kit included coconut oil (hard form), honey, sugar, pots and labels. Baisically, mix it all together to fill the five pots for a cute handmade gift! I added red food colouring to mine to add a more girly feel, but you could add food flavourings or glitter for a personal touch!
I think these are too cute! My next kit was another from my Christmas box, it was to make two cute felt baulbals. The kit included felt, stuffing, ribbon, thread and buttons. I made one round green baubal and found this sewing kit very therapeutic. I've decided to keep the other for when I stay at my boyfriends.

More cards coming up Thursday morning everyone!

Tidying time

Evening everyone,
I bet you've missed me! I've finally realised I can't stop. This weekend has been a nightmare for me. I had a horrible migraine attack yesterday leaving me tired and achey. However my lovely mum has given me a surprise, she moved my room around for me. Unfortunately though it means she has found a load of craft items I need to make. So guess what I'm doing tomorrow.
This is what she found me. I've got a lovely day ahead tomorrow sorting This out! Watch out for a post.

Just a quick one!

Hey all!
I've actually given myself a weekend off from making and blogging so this post will be my last until Monday! But here's a little update on the cards I made from the Papercraft Inspirations free gift.
The lovely gift this time consisted of cake stamps and beautiful papers. The free gifts from the magazine are always great quality however this time I wasn't too keen. This was until I used them! Here are my cards.
This was the first one. I really just followed the photo of inspiration in the magazine but I felt that this wasn't my style. So I carried on to make these...

Thank you for reading everyone! See you on Monday.

The Shabby Tea Room entry- #196

Hey everyone!
It's that time of the week again. It's my Shabby Tea Room entry time. This week I found it perticularly difficult as I stopped making Christmas card making a while a go but I carried on and made this beauty!

This is the shabby tea room link for this week, why not join in?

This week we had to make a card or project inspired the picture (pictured above) AND include polka dots and
buttons. This is what I created. Quite honestly, I love this design!

Thank you all for reading. Wish me good luck!

Just a quick one!

Hey everyone,
It's me again! It's come round to my favourite time of the month, when Papercraft Inspirations (http://www.papercraftinspirationsmagazine.co.uk) is out! I love reading this magazine and I've learned so much from it. The front card is beautiful this time! Let alone the gift! Beautiful papers and stamps. If you don't already, buy it. You'll be hooked!

Unfortuantly I'm not feeling myself today so no card posts or making for me. Just time to relax with my feet up reading.

Hope you all have a good night!

1920's cards!

Hey all!
I made quite a few cards last night so here is a short post with the others that I made.
This card is made with the docrafts 1920's themed range and I must admit it makes very grown up cards. I love how you can make very flamboyant but cute cards quickly with this range. Of course I would give this to a female, however you could make one for a male too.

This is the third valentines card I have made and am getting a few comments on them now. I love how the green flower pops out from the background in this design.

Coming up tomorrow is The Shabby Tea Room competition! Can't believe it's been a week already.

Thanks for reading.

All loved up

Good morning all.
Now that the Christmas card making period is over (well for me anyways!), I've decided to turn to the next season, Valentines!
This morning (around 8am, I'm always up early) I decided to start with two simple forever friends cards. I love docrafts forever friends valentines collection. It's so easy to make simple but striking valentines cards from.
This simple yet amazing layout was featured in Docrafts Creativity magazine (amazing magazine if you love docrafts products). I had to give it a go with my own twist. Seen as I still haven't got my bigshot die cutting machine yet, the scalloped edges became circles. I also added roses as a loved up touch.
After a little break I also used another pattern to make this design. I'm not too sure on the look of this card, too many sentiments if you ask me. But it was well worth the try.

Have you started your valentines cards yet? Even thought about it yet? I have no idea what to get for my boyfriend, but I do have 2 months to go!

Thank you for reading!

What a day!

Evening all!
I have to apologise now for the latestness of my post! I've had the most strangest of days.
My towns retail park (where I work) has had a major fire and I really didn't know whether I would be working today or not! Luckily for me, I was working!
So now I am home I'm going to relax and enjoy myself! Back to the card making tomorrow on my day off!

Thanks for reading.

Just a quick hello!

Hey all!
I've actually got the night shift today at work so it's a quick post from me today. I've just been sat in front of the tv (friends of course ;)) making more Christmas cards for my family. So I thought I'd show you today 5 of my favourite Christmas cards I've made this year.

The last one was a kit but I loved making it! These are all still for sale, please contact me if you are interested in any.

Crafty Creatives Kit

Hey all,
Today is my day off and I decided to pull out a crafty creatives kit. Crafty Creatives (http://www.craftycreatives.com) are a themed kit company where you pay £12.95 a month to receive a box with a theme. The catch is you don't know what is in the box or the theme! Each box contains a kit also.
This months box's theme was medieval. It had a beautiful beading kit in it to make a lovely bracelet. Beading is not really my thing but I thought I'd have a go. I started at 9am and I could see straight away that the design was beautiful!

Here are a few pictures from the making process. The colours were beautiful and picked out the theme perfectly.
I managed to finish my kit (after being in town for the dentist too!) at about 2pm, but found this method of beading amazing. Thank you crafty creatives for this opportunity!

Just one more thing before I go! Here is a preview of my jewellery on London Jewellery School's Facebook page.

Thank you for reading today.

Shabby Tea room entry!

Hey everyone,
This is my first ever shabby tea room entry and I love the inspiration picture! If you haven't heard of it, The Shabby Tea Room (theshabbytearoom.blogspot.co.uk) is a weekly post competition where you are given a picture which you have to make a card or papercraft project inspired by it. You are also given a piece you have to add into it (like this weeks item was "have to include a tag").

This is this weeks project:
http://theshabbytearoom.blogspot.co.uk/2013/12/week-195-terrific-tags.html?m=1

Here is the card I made inspired by the picture. I included patterned papers, the tag of course, wooden vaneers, ribbon and flowers. Of course I couldn't forget the gems!

Thank you for reading!
